I did as someone else suggested and put apple cider vinegar in a cup to about 2" level and added a few drops of Dawn and they get in there and die and then I make a new batch. I now keep two cups. One on the kitchen window ledge and one in by pantry. What a miracle...................AND no chemicals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bleach won't take care of the problem, you need something that will eliminate the organic matter that builds up in a disposal or drain. Here are some tips on using a proper drain cleaner for fruit flies: http://www.fruitflysolutions.com/how-to-solutions-drain-cleaner/

Hi, I have a million ok hundreds of Fruit Flies in my house just recently. I have removed all fruit, plants, everything and I still find them. I put bleach down the garbage disposal, clean the trash container, and still I see them. I put red wine vinegar in a bowl and they swarm to it. Oh my gosh...it's crazy. I still have them. I'm on fly patrol all the time. What else can I do?
